Facebook Messenger Automation: AI Replies to DMs and Page Comments
Connect your Facebook Page in one click and MySA Business becomes your AI Messenger assistant: it answers Messenger conversations and Page comments with AI, grounded on your Business Details and in the customer's own language. Leads are captured from chats, an interested customer can agree to an AI call, and your team keeps a live inbox for manual replies.

What gets automated on a Facebook Page
Two things: the Messenger conversations your Page receives, and the comments under your Page posts. Both are answered by the same AI assistant that serves your Instagram account, your WhatsApp number and your phone calls, from the Business Details category you choose for the Page. One knowledge base, one tone, every channel.
Messenger replies
Each incoming message is answered from your Business Details in the language the customer writes in. Reply timing sets whether the AI answers immediately or waits 5, 10, 15 or a custom number of seconds (up to 30) so several short messages get one reply. Tick your own APIs under Live data in replies for answers that change daily. The AI can also send a ready-made template, a card or a carousel with Link, Call and WhatsApp buttons, when one fits or when the message contains one of its keywords. Everything stays inside Meta's 24-hour messaging window.
Page comment replies
Set a comment mode per Page: Off, Public reply under the comment, Private reply as a Messenger DM, or Hybrid with a short public acknowledgement you can word yourself plus a private DM. Only real questions get a reply. A keyword rule on a template, such as offer on one post or all posts, sends that template to whoever comments it, as a private message. The mechanics are the same as on Instagram; see Instagram comment to DM automation.
Leads and intent-based calling from Messenger
When a customer asks about price, booking, availability or a visit from their second message on, the AI asks once for a name and mobile number, and every Indian mobile number written in the chat is saved as a lead on Positive Leads. With Call when the customer agrees switched on, the AI then asks whether your team may call; on a yes an AI call goes out in the customer's language with a summary of the chat, and on a no it is not offered again. At most one such call a day goes to a number across Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, and your DND hours and wallet balance apply. Read how the call itself works on AI voice agents.
Your team in the loop
Every Messenger conversation is in the live inbox on the Facebook page in the console, and anyone with access can reply by hand at any time. There is no automatic escalation: the AI does not hand chats to a person on its own. Channel Report shows chat leads, how many came from Facebook, how many agreed to a call and how many calls were placed.
Setup
Sign in with Facebook, pick the Page, choose the Business Details category and you are connected. Facebook is enabled per workspace with a limit on how many Pages you can connect; raise a support ticket if it shows as locked. The step-by-step guide is in Instagram & Facebook.
How to set it up
- 1
Connect Facebook
One-click Facebook Login — pick your Page, no tokens or setup screens to fill in.
- 2
Pick a Business Details category
The AI answers DMs and comments strictly from that category, just like WhatsApp and calls.
- 3
Set your reply timing
Reply instantly, or wait 5/10/15/custom seconds so a burst of DMs gets merged into one clear reply (30s cap either way).
- 4
Choose a comment-reply mode
Off, Public, Private (DM), or Hybrid (public acknowledgement + private DM) — only real questions get a reply.
- 5
Send template messages
Build rich templates — an image, a card, or a swipeable carousel with Link, Call and WhatsApp buttons — and send them on a keyword, a comment, or when the AI picks the right one.
- 6
Turn on Call when the customer agrees
Once a customer shares a number, the AI asks if your team may call and places an AI call on a yes, with a summary of the chat.
- 7
Reply live when you want
Every Messenger conversation shows up in the inbox, so you can jump in and reply manually anytime.

Frequently asked questions
What is a Messenger assistant?
An AI that answers the messages your Facebook Page receives in Messenger. In MySA Business it replies from your Business Details in the customer's language, can send cards and carousels with buttons, saves the leads it finds, and leaves every chat in a live inbox for your team.
Can MySA Business answer Facebook Messenger automatically?
Yes. Connect a Page and every Messenger message is answered by the AI from the Business Details category you chose, in the customer's language, within Meta's 24-hour window.
Can it reply to comments on my Page posts?
Yes. Choose Off, Public reply, Private reply or Hybrid per Page. Only real questions get a reply, and a keyword rule on a template can send that template privately to anyone who comments the keyword.
Can a Messenger chat lead to a phone call?
Yes, with Call when the customer agrees switched on. After the customer shares a number the AI asks whether your team may call, and on a yes an AI call goes out with a summary of the chat.
Can my team reply themselves?
Yes. Every conversation is in the live inbox and anyone with access can type a reply at any time. The AI does not hand over chats automatically.
Is it the same assistant as on Instagram and WhatsApp?
Yes. All channels answer from the same Business Details, so a customer gets the same answer wherever they write.
